Wonderbox March 2013 - Summer Lust!!!!

Oh dear I know this is a very late review of the March Wonderbox but bear with me as it has to be done to show all of you a bigger picture in the next post :)

Its summer time and most beauty boxes are incorporating sunblocks, hand creams and products that suits the summer season. One word of advise, products are not miracle workers, it may be able to change your looks for a moment but it still depends on your internal body condition as well i.e. your food - you need a lot of water to keep yourself hydrated and eat vegetables to give you the protein your body needs, different body parts needs different vitamins to 'boost up'. On to the March Wonderbox; well I wasn't too excited about the March edition - I love MURAD products and I certainly love hand creams but this edition just lacks the WOW factor for me.

1. MURAD Oil Free Sunblock SPF 30: RM 170 (50ml)

A patented, antioxidant-rich formula that prevents signs of premature aging caused by environmental exposure. Its lightweight, shine-free formula provides high UVA/UVB protection while micro-minerals leave an oil-free matte finish

2. MURAD Hydro Dynamic Ultimate Moisture: RM 298 (50ml)

3. MURAD Active Radiance Serum: RM 398 (30ml)

The active radiance serum restores skin's natural radiance, resilience and clarity with Resilient-C Complex, a new stable vitamin C technology that delivers 50 times the collagen-building, skin-brightening and cell protecting power of ordinary topical Vitamin C.

4. ELIANTO Lustro Lip Gloss: RM 13*

Elianto's Lustro Lip Gloss gives lips a lacquer-like finish. Enhances the shape and contour of your lips to give you a glossy lustre lips.

5. WILD FERNS Manuka Honey Conditioning Hand Creme: 
NZ$ 11*

An intensive hand and nail creme contains the beneficial properties of Active Manuka AAH (Antibacterial, Antioxidant-Honey) 650+ blended with Prosina, a hydrolysed Keratin derived from New Zealand Sheep's wool.

WTF - sheeps wool???? I have no idea sheeps wool can be made into one of the ingredients in a hand creme - very interesting though.

What I think:
Way too many MURAD products!!!! I love MURAD but I'd like to have some other products to try on as well. Hope this is just one of thos 'bad days' for them. I'll still root for you. Gambatte ne ^o^

Vanity Trove Malaysia April 2013 - The Shower of Summer

Hello lovelies, here's Vanity Trove April 2013 edition - The Shower of Summer. I can't believe summer is almost here (it feels the same throughout the year when you are in Malaysia LOL) - BIKINI TIME!!!!!

Well before we have our bikini party, we definitely have to start preparing ourselves RIGHT NOW. What's better than having summer ready body and beautiful skin to complement it?

I was soo happy to see a box full of products.

1. CLARINS Intensive Brightening Serum: RM 295 (30ml)

CLARINS is one of the brands that gives out an abundance of samples - you only need to ask ( I know I heard from my friends that not all Clarins counter ladies are friendly but I normally visit the one in Pavillion - they are absolutely lovely ^o^, I've not had any problem there)

2. ORIKS Gemstone Nano Platinum Aqua Watery Cream:

Actually I was praying that I wouldn't receive this - I absolutely dislike it. The one I received in February's MODBOX is definitely x100 nicer :(

Vanity Trove's award winning Temptress?

Temptress = temptation in lady form? Goodness its such a complicated word for me. I'm not a scholar or a dictionary trying to define the word but my understanding of it is nil - zilch - nothing!!!!

So what does Vanity Trove thinks a temptress should have?

TIMELESS TRUTH Orchid Extract Replenishing Mask 1 piece - 30ml (RM10/ piece)

Excessively pampered with Orchid, Purple Peril and Chamomile extracts, the masks whitens, brightens and moisturises. Eash cheet is stretchable and form-fitting, giving you perfect comfort and full coverage for every application.

The Orchid sounds really exotic. Although I find the product interesting but I wouldn't pay RM 10 for only a piece of mask. I might change my mind after I use it but that's for another day.


KANEBO  LUNASOL Skin Fusing Powder Foundation 0.6g (RM 60 - casing with sponge / RM140 - foundation refill 10.5g) * casing and refill sold separately.

The powder is made to infuse with your skin, creating that smooth poreless look and still have that inner radiance shining through. The product stays fresh despite sweat and sebum. What!!its only as big as a 20 cents coin and it looks a bit too yellowish for me.

It did infuse with my skin but somehow it made my skin more yellowish - yucks!!! Maybe I should try it on my face instead to see the REAL result. Application was really smooth.


KANEBO LUNASOL Smoothing Makeup Base 1g x2
{sorry no photo -will update soon, for the time being, check out the 2 satchets from the overall beauty box photo above.}

Its a gel cream type makeup base developed exclusively for LUNASOL's Skin fusing Powder Foundation. It spreads well and smoothes your skin while even out pores and bumps on your skin. Keeps your face radiant and smooth for hours.


BIO-ESSENCE Bird's Nest Bio-Energy Firm & Brighten Eye Cream SPF 15  3ml x 2

The full size product comes with a unique lifting applicator for firming and brightening eye contour. Its Bio-Energy ingredient increases metabolism and improves blood and oxygen circulation helping to reduce melanin precipitate and eliminates dark circles.

This might be a good change to my LIMI Red Apple Whitening Eye Mask. Shall try it out soon.


ETRE BELLE Sensiplus+ Hydrasilk Day and Night Cream SPF 10 5ml (RM188/50ml)

Protects allergy prone skin against environmental stressors and helps to relieve itching and irritation of skin. The ingredients include silk proteins, white tea and pure vegetable ingredients. The moisturising cream can be used around the clock for 24 hours.


ETRE BELLE Sensiplus+ Hydrasilk Gel Tonic 2ml (RM138/140ml)

This product works to soothe and moisture delicate and irritated skin. Works together with Hydrasilk Day and Night Cream. Apply it in the morning and evening after cleansing and gently massage it in.

The spray nozzle reminds me of the Avene Thermal Spring water. Other than that, I'm not very interested in having this. I'd much prefer to have the ASIAN POTION Blooming Ginger Body Lotion.

The vouchers:

Well the only one I will be using is the KANEBO personalised 45 minutes Vivid colour purification makeup lesson or makeover with Kanebo. Not too interested in the other vouchers.

Overall the products doesn't really fit the "Temptress" theme of the month. Maybe LUNASOL almost got it but other than that - the skincares and mask doesn't really make it for me. Gambatte Vanity Trove Malaysia - I know its in you to give us the best products like VT Singapore!!!!

Smokey Eyes set that comes with a cream eyeliner that can be used as a base and a powder eyeshadow plus a dual end applicator.

I love the silvery grey. Its quite shimmery and the colour translate very well - what you see is what you get. The formula is quite thick, as you can see from the photo above, two swatches is all u need. I've not have a chance to don a smokey eye - this is just awesome for that special day out in town!!!


3. ESSENCE XXXL Nudes Lipgloss (05 Forever Rose)  5ml -
RM 9.90/5ml

The ultimate gloss that keeps your lips shimmery and moisturised with Vitamin E and Panthenol (a natural, hydrating form of Vitamin B5) without leaving behind a sticky feeling.

I absolutely love this lipgloss!!! I know I have a lot of lipgloss at the moment - thanks to my November Wonderbox but this is just gorgeous.


4. SHAiRE London Silk Classic Collection Hair Perfume (Dry Shampoo) 60ml - RM35.90/60ml  (FULL SIZE)

The ultimate all-in-one hair product. Great for in between washes, it cleanses, conditions and revitalizes your hair, and repairs and strengthens hair roots. Furthermore it detoxifies hair, neutralises odour and effectively cleanse hair while soothing the scalp. Application is simple - just spray on both hair and scalp and massage gently.

This is relevantly new to me. I've never had a dry shampoo before, not even when I was in UK - I prefer washing it even in winter, is it an asian thing? I can't really tell how it smells, it has some sort of floral scent lingering after spraying but its not strong. I don't like having perfumed products on my hair but since the scent is not strong it should be alright. Maybe I should give it a try - been having excessive hair falls for the past few weeks. 

5. JUICE BEAUTY Blemish Clearing Serum 30ml  - RM185/50ml

A certified organic product by a US Department of Agriculture approved agency. It contains powerful hydroxy-acid complex of certified organic apple, lemon and raw cane sugar blended with antioxidants and co-enzyme Q10 to improve skin's texture for a fresher, radiant complexion.

I've heard so much good things about Juice Beauty, am so excited to try this. I love organic products.


My Verdict:

For the price of RM 19/month, I'd think this box is really worth your money and its the cheapest compared to the other beauty boxes. If beauty box is still a new concept to you - you can check out all the other beauty boxes that I had subscribed to HERE!!!

All in all this months product is quite a hit for me. I love all of it - which is quite rare. There's a good balance of skincare with beauty products i.e. for the face and nail. What about you? Do YOU think this months product is satisfactory?

Vanity Trove Malaysia makes its debut for valentine's

Guess what appeared at my door today - YES its Vanity Trove Malaysia's debut trove and 

ITS ALL ABOUT LOVE!!!! 

Just because February is a  festive season I had to wait another month to receive my box (I really didn't like the courier service people, they are kinda rude over the phone, I hope this can be changed next time).

Well  lets share the joy!!! In this months Vanity Trove I actually have my name on a sticky note on my box

and a personalised thank you card!!! I love the design on the card, the colour is soo bright and happy.

Just like its sister trove in Singapore, the beauty box comes with a product description card.

    WELLA SYSTEM PROFESSIONAL Smoothen Mask 30ml

The Smoothen Shampoo cleanses and treats the hair structure to boost suppleness, perfectly control and smoothen hair structure making coarse hair a pleasure to comb.

The Smoothen Mask is the perfect treatment for hair. It detangles and smoothen hair leaving it feeling luxuriously supple.

I love Wella. My first hair dye was using Wella (in a salon) in UK and it was gorgeous!!! I do have a lot of hair care products at the moment, all from Lilacbox 2013 debut box and December 2012 Wonderbox but I can't have enough hair masks!!!! I have a love for masks :P


2. BENEFIT POREfessional 7.5ml

This product is silky and lightweighted. It can be used on its own or on top of makeup to reduce the appearance of pores and fine lines. Its translucent, oil free formula complements all skin tones and helps makeup stay put. It contains Vitamin E derivative, known to protect the skin from free radicals.

This is actually my first BENEFIT product. I've heard rave reviews about it and am really glad to have received it here. Will try it out soon!!!


3. DI PALOMO Tuscan Rose Hand and Body Lotion 25ml

A rich and indulgent hand and body lotion blended with moisturising olive and sweet almond oils, knowing for their skin soothing properties. Just apply on your body after shower to leave your skin soft, smooth and nourished.

At first I thought the scent was too strong and overpowering (without opening the cap) for a body lotion but then when I apply it on my hand - I fell in love!!!! I love that sweet succulent rose scent and I can't stop smelling my hand after applying it...oops that sounds wrong :P


4. ORIKS WILD GINSENG STEMCELL ESSENCE TWISTER BB CREAM 2ML X 2

This BB cream is formulated with plant stem cells to repair and keep your skin healty while covering imperfections. Its unique three tier cream design includes the milk lotion with wild ginseng, the concealer and the serum with Repair Complex CLR

OMG omg omg I get to try ORIKS!!! Thank you for bringing this brand VT, I'm so in awe right now.


5. ORIKS Wild Ginseng Stemcell Twister Essence 

The twister essence hydrates and nourishes skin with its soft and velvety texture. It helps reduces visible pores with its swirled silicon polymers and protect the skin from environmental pollution.

Another ORIKS product!!! This must be my lucky box.


6. B.Liv Off with Those Heads Blackheads Sebum Gel 

This product removes white heads and black heads gently and effectively. It keeps oil secretions under control and banishes all kinds of skin irritations.

This is a good product for me to try. I've been battling with white and black heads for so long now that sometimes I just want to give up. Hope this will be my miracle product.

The Voucher:

Overall, I find that I'm satisfied with the products but If I have to pay RM 60/month for this beauty box, IT should have more in it. Maybe more products or premium sized? Well since this is their debut trove, I'd say its quite a job well done. Unlike the December Singapore trove vouchers, the vouchers in this box are localised which also means it won't go to waste!!!!
